That's What Christmas Means to Me

It's the most wonderful time of the year and I am so excited to have my home decorated for the holidays! This is a such a special time of year and for me and a part of that is decorating. Not just because it makes my home look nice but because it's a part of what Christmas feels like and that's what it's all about. When it comes to decorating for Christmas you can do absolutely whatever feels good to you no matter how extreme or minimal you go or what colors you use. With that being said, what also feels good to me other than decorating for Christmas is doing so without spending all your hard earned dollars! If you're anything like me, you have a list of really cute nieces, nephews, etc that you'd rather spend your money shopping for and see those excited faces as they open presents. Decor should be the least of your expenses around this time!  Let's talk about how I found a few ways to save all while showing what Christmas means to me through decorating.

I love the look of the traditional red and green and I like to update my take on that every year. This year I wanted more ribbons and a little more sparkle. I found both of those things at Michael's both 50% off and I paid a total of less than $15. I also buy the simple container of ornaments that are usually around $20 but you can always find    them at Hobby Lobby and use a 40% coupon that's accessible at any time on the app or website. Kirkland's is also like Christmas heaven right now and they are having constant sales! I scored my cute, little reindeer from there that I placed in front of my fire place.

Pillows are always a go to for me. This year I changed them up and added some I found at Kirkland's and At Home (anywhere from original price $14-$19 before sales and coupons). I love that they have words on them such as "Let It Snow," "Merry," and some with a list of all the reindeer. My pillows that are on the couch all year long don't match my Christmas decor so rather than purchase all new pillows, I simply turn then over to the solid side and incorporate my holiday pillows in with those!

Candles, Ornaments, Signs, Garland and Lights: These are a few of my favorite things! Let me be completely transparent. I love to decorate for the holidays but I refuse to do it spending a large amount of money (I'm sure the hubs appreciates that). So, I use the simple things that I can buy a lot of at a low cost. (Sidenote: The dollar spot at Target sometimes has great Christmas decor that usually costs no more than $5!) Check out the picture gallery below to see my take on using all my favorite things as my Christmas Decor.

Make your home feel like and look like whatever makes you happy and gives you all the holiday feels. But what's most important is taking time to spend with your loved ones. Above anything, my family and friends make Christmas feel more special than any decorations could. And that's what Christmas means to me!

Merry Christmas from our little family to yours!
